Croton-on Hudson
People say they enjoy Croton-on-Hudson for the small town atmosphere, its beauty
and interesting history. The majestic Hudson River borders the village to the west, and
Teatown Lake Reservation frames the east. Mountain roads and lake drives around Croton
Reservoir, across Croton Dam, and along the Croton River complete the serene setting and
offer panoramic views of water and highlands.
Croton's train ride along the Hudson River is a desirable commute. Metro-North
offers dependability and a 48-minute Express Rail service to and from Grand Central
Station. Bus service is offered to White Plains and other nearby towns. Route 9A for the
Saw Mill River Parkway and Route 129 to the Taconic Parkway, are both accessible to
Interstate 287 and the N.Y.Thruway.
The village is dotted with playgrounds, ballfields, and tennis courts. There is
hiking along the Croton Aqueduct, fishing, picnicking and canoeing at Croton Point Park, a
500-acre peninsula jutting into the Hudson River. The 639-acre Teatown Lake Wildlife
Preserve provides educational and recreational programs all year round.

York City. The majority of Briarcliff lies within the Town of Ossining and both areas have
their own Union Free School Districts. In addition to comprehensive academic programs,

University, located in Pleasantville, provides its dormitory space in Briarcliff Manor.
The public library serves the area with movies, book sales and discussion groups and
provides a major resource center to the Village. A district within the Village of
Briarcliff Manor is Scarborough, which has been listed on the National Historic Register.
Rich history, scenic river views and cozy, old-fashioned surroundings provide an
unsurpassed setting.
