North Salem The Town of North Salem includes the hamlets of Purdys, North Salem, Croton Falls, and Salem Center. North Salem is home to prominent farms and estates, handsomely restored historic residences, breathtaking contemporaries designed to capture the beauty of their surroundings, and modest homes of all types. Horses are, by far, the Town's foremost attraction and provide a livelihood for many of the residents. There are many renowned stables located here, along with miles upon miles of bridle trails amid the magnificent countryside. North Salem is considered to be the last of the "wide open spaces" in Westchester County, yet it is convenient to major commuting routes via car, rail, and air. Retail business is not the Town's top priority, but a 10-15 minute trip in any direction will provide access to all the merchants you need.
