Granite Springs, Town of Somers
The Town of Somers is a semi-rural community that is best known as the home of the American Circus and the famed Elephant Hotel, which now houses the town's Historical Society and a Circus Museum. Somers is composed of many small hamlets including Amawalk, Baldwin Place, Granite Springs, Lincolndale, Lake Purdys, and Shenorock.
It has been the fastest growing community in Westchester County for over a decade with the additions of corporate offices for IBM and PepsiCo, plus Heritage Hills, an expansive condominium complex.
Somers offers its residents an unsurpassed quality of life with plenty of open country acres, water views of the many lakes and reseviors, and the newly refurbished and expanded Somerstown Shopping Center. Parks abound, drawing visitors from throughout the area to Lasdon Park Arboretum for summer concerts, Reis Park's ballfields, tennis courts and picnic pavilion, and Muscoot Farm, a circa 1900 "gentleman's farm" with animals, barns, hiking trails, and educational programs.
Conveniently located on the I-684 corridor and the Metro-North Commuter train line, the town provides easy access to New York City, lower Westchester, Putnam County, and Connecticut. Somers residents enjoy carefree country life with suburban conveniences.
